Is there a suite-hotel in or very near DC ?

A group of formerly-wild-and-crazy women have chosen Washington to have a reunion in September, and we all want to stay together in one or two suites...any suggestions?

The Summerfield Suites (by Wyndham) Embassy Square is 2 blocks from DuPont Circle Metro station and in a good neighborhood. They have rooms with L/R (pull out couch)/Kitchen, + 2 bedroom + 2 bathroom. I've not stayed, but did stop by to look at them. Their best prices are often by calling that hotel directly. Embassy Suites are in several areas, but Alexandria location probably offers the best compromise of price & convenience, plus it's adjacent to both the King St Metro and trendy King Street. There's "Virginia Suites" in Arlington, near Rosslyn Metro station. You could walk to the Metro (probably not with luggage tho) and they have free shuttle as well. Burn the town down, ladies!

A new Marriott apartment suites opened recent;y on Duke Street in Alexandria, VA, two blocks from the Kings Street Metro station, and adjacent to several good, moderately priced restaurants. Vrey nice facility, with free parking, and a five-minute walk to metro, and 15 minutes walk to Old Town Alexandria. Ideal spot.

Consider staying at the Embassy Suites Hotel at 1250 22nd Street. I have stayed here before and it was an excellent hotel.

You might want to look into the Marriott Residence Inn on P St NW, in the heart of Dupont Circle, a great location for enjoying DC.

There are at least 3 or 4 Embassy Suites in the DC area. The Chevy Chase ES is literally on top of a shopping mall and the Friendship Heights Metro stop; the ES in Alexandria is right across the street from a Metro stop; there's another one in Crystal City that offered free parking for AAA members when we stayed there (it alsoran a shuttle to the nearest Metro stop, even though it's just a couple of blocks away).

For good hotel rates, try www.washingtondchotels.com. I once got an Embassy Suites room for $18 because of a typo, but usually the rates are very good but not outrageous like that.

We stayed at Washington Suites Georgetown last summer. It is not really in Georgetown, although just over line and walkable to Georgetown restaurants. Is about 3 blocks from Foggy Bottom Metro stop. Small, older hotel - relatively inexpensive. No restaurant. Free breakfast. I think it used to be a Doubletree

I would stay at the Embassy Suites near Dupont Circle myself (on 22nd). I think it's the best location. There are a couple other suite hotels that are more budget -- Carlyle Suites near Dupont Circle and Capitol Hill Suites. Both locations are fine, also.

You didn't say how many people are in your group, but some suite hotels are more to provide some extra space and a kitchenette, not to accommodate a whole big group of people. Although the Embassy Suites do have a sofa bed that would sleep two, as well as the bedroom which would sleep two. I think that's about four max unless you want to be very cozy (ie, there are two regular size double beds in the bedroom which I assume would sleep two, not 4).
