Is the Ritz Plaza in South Beach a good hotel?

I bid for a 2-star hotel on priceline and got the "Ritz Plaza" in South Beach. Is this an acceptable place to stay? What are the accommodations like? Your comments would be appreciated.

A two star in South Beach will be a dump. You bid a two star and got one, so it will be a dump as you requested. What else do you need to know?

I expect that even for a 2-star the accommodations should be clean and decent even though they may be basic. Clearly,I do not expect fancy amenities at a 2 star. I would simply like to know whether this hotel has clean rooms with comfortable beds.

The room should be made up. Don't expect it to be spotless. Depending on the maids they hired that day sometimes it may be cleaner than other days. Not great beds. Some people will find them comfortable. Some people are comfortable sleeping on the floor. Anyone who says the beds will be comfortable there is making a guess.
Not all rooms will have the same beds.

Thanks for your comments. Needless to say, I am somewhat disappointed with what I got.

Unfortunately, below is a review I copied and pasted out of Trip Advisor. I used to live in South Beach as well and I would have agree that a 2-star in that area is not so great. Too bad there's no way to back out?

This is the worst hotel that I have ever stayed at. I could not believe how bad it was. I travel a lot and thought that it looked nice from the pictures. I was not the only person that was horrified by my recent stay. I heard others complaining about things at the front desk. Do yourself a favor, do not stay here at any cost!

The Ritz Plaza is unfortunately NOT under reconstruction right now. It's way overdue for a thorough renovation, but it looks like the planned "takeover" by W Hotels fell through.

missjanna, you're thinking of the Ritz-CARLTON South Beach (the old DiLido Hotel). That IS under construction. The opening date has been delayed so many times I've lost count (and interest)-- but I've heard by the end of 2003....
