Is Hudson Hotel NYC ok for moms & 17-year-old daughters?

We are taking our 17-year-old daughters to NYC and are considering staying at Hudson Hotel--I get a special discount price there. Is it an appropriate place for us to stay & would the girls be allowed in the Library & Rooftop areas?

Well the rooms are known for being especially minute - and the rate of more than $500 per night for a double double is not exactly a bargain (unless you have a real special deal). I wouldn;t attempt to put 4 adults in one room (but then I wouldn;t share a bath with 2 teenage girls). I think you might get much more room at one of the affinia hotels - which have all sorts of room/suite configurations.

If you are going to the library or roof for a meal they will be allowed. If you just want drinks I doubt they will allow underage girls - and since it's trendy there might be a line unless you go very early.

I suggest you ask the hotel about whether the girls would be allowed in and at what hours. Agree that rooms there are known to be particularly small. Unless your deal is so great you could afford to get 2 rooms, I'm not sure I'd do it.

I have booked two rooms--with a very discounted price--but I'll also check out the affinia hotels. I just wanted to book something (since we're going to be there the week of Thanksgiving) before everything is taken. Thanks for the info!

The Hudson is a very nice, hip hotel in a great location. I think your girls would enjoy it. They might be permitted in the Library area, not sure about the rooftop. I agree, you should call the hotel.
