We're planning on making a nostalgia trip back to Dallas primarily to eat Mexican and Tex-Mex food we've been missing for years. Is Herrera's still around? What are the other good places for Mexican and Tex-Mex food?

Herrera's on Josey is still there. The two locations on Beltline were closed a few years back. Don't know if there are any others.
I'm still looking for some good Tex Mex in the Addison area. If anyone has some suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them as well.

I believe the Herrera's on Maple is still open, and it used to be byob. I also love Ojeda's on Maple, Mia's on Lemmon, or Primo's on McKinney. Some more upscale choices would be the Luna de Noche or Mi Cocina chains.

What about Javier's on Cole at the Knox-Henderson area? www.javiers.net
Also, Mattito's on Routh and Cedar Springs is fun and has a quaint patio, too.

Herrera's on Denton Drive is still around. Walls laden with articles and pics of the past, including one of Mama Herrera (I presume) with "Bobby Ewing" a.k.a Patrick Duffy. Food is still delish. The locale is just south of Lemmon and Inwood, 5427 Denton Drive.
I second Mattito's.
