Irish Festival in NYC on the 16th of September
I was reading that there is an Irish Festival in NYC on 6th Ave between 42nd and 56th St on 16 September. I've been to the San Gennaro Festivals several years ago and had a great time.
Anybody been to one? Is it worth a Saturday afternoon?

Never heard of this one, but based on the date, location, and the listings I see for it online, it sounds like one of our regular street fairs, full of lots of food and other vendors.
I think that all street fairs in NYC have to have an official non-profit group 'sponsor' so the names of the fairs don;t mean much. You will likely see a few extra Irish vendors (beer companies, Ireland tourism board) but I seriously doubt it woould be an actual cultural festival.

Here is the link to Irishfest in Milwaukee. As you can see it's grown, however the grounds can accomodate many more than 100,00.

Sorry my link didn't work, but that looks pretty easy to find.

Here's another vote for Milwaukee's Irish Fest. The lakefront property is really nice, and the music is fabulous: we've seen Gaelic Storm, the Irish Rovers, Tommy Makem, Stone Ring, Blarney, Schooner Faire, Natalie McMasters, Liam Clancy, the Makem & Spain Brothers, Frogwater, and lots more.

Thanks for the Milwaukee info. If I'm in the neighborhood next August, I'll put it on my calendar.
New York next weekend. Anyone been there, done that, got the t-shirt? I did do a google search, and something tells me this is not a major event.
