We will be in Washington D.C. in October for a few days. We are traveling with our 9 and 12 year old kids. Has anyone been to the International Spy Museum and is it worth going to see?

BK -- It is one of the hottest museums in the city right now. WEekend lines can be long, but evening hours (til 8) and weedays seem to be better.
It's a high concept design with films and interactive sets to engage and lead you through the museum. I haven't met anyone yet who didn't like it.
Returned last month from wonderful trip to Washington, DC. My husband and 16 year old son loved the Spy Museum; 12 year old daughter and I could have skipped it. We were there on a weekday mid-afternoon in August. Line was about 45 minutes to get in. While there, it was almost too crowded to enjoy.
Museum is very big on history of spying and spys and how they have changed/effected history. Some spying "stuff" - cameras, etc. - but I would have preferred less history and more stuff. While the museum is supposed to have flow and interactive exhibits, crowds thwarted their efforts in that sense. Mainly a lot of exhibits to read and look at and spy artifacts.
We were there for a week, so afternoon spent at Spy Museum was not wasted. In my opinion, it would depend on interests of those in your group, time you have in Washington. Husband and son are very interested in history, which contributed to their enjoyment of the place. Since it is a privately run museum, unlike most else in Washington, there is an admission fee.
I am sure I am in the minority of not being thrilled with this museum - many people I know say wonderful things about it - even those who have not been there.
