INN OF CHICAGO, 162 E OHIO ST, CHICAGO, IL

Has anyone stayed at this hotel, INN OF CHICAGO, located 162 EAST OHIO STREET, looks like it's centrally located in Magnificent Mile area.
I appreciate any comments, thank-you.

The Best Western Inn?

If so, location is excellent, but you should look at recent reviews on TripAdvisor.

Sounds like the Best Western to me. Skip it. It's a dump.

I was hoping w/location & price it would be a good deal for us. But, if it's a dump????? We'll keep looking, trying to find something for less than $200 a night, is that possible? thanks for all the info!

Try Quikbook - I got a terrific rate at the Comfort Inn & Suites (15 East Ohio) for 5 nights next month. Similarly terrific location - very favorable reviews on TripAdvisor.

I second the suggestion for quikbook, if you don't want to tread into hotwire or priceline territory. Pick Michigan Ave, River, Loop areas only.

I stayed there a few times back in my late 20s and thought it was just fine, and the location was perfect. But as it's been 10 years, I can't say that I wouldn't consider it a dump now though. Depends on how picky you are I guess.

I stayed at the Comfort Inn 15 E Ohio in September and would stay there again.

Buffet breakfast, business crowd-oriented hotel, plenty of restaurants within walking distance, food store across the street where you can get a tranportation pass - mine was for 3 days.

Don't remember how much it was exactly, but the average under $150 for sure. I used Quikbook. As with every website, call the hotel directly to confirm your reservation.

I liked that Quikbook sent me an e-mail after I came home asking to review the hotel.

I took shuttle from the airport Midway, and a taxi going back to Amtrak.

We are also thinking of staying here and would love to hear commments. Also, Faina we are doing the same thing - flying and and possibly talking the train home. How was the train?

We stayed at Hotel 71 for $110 a night in February because the hotels we wanted to stay at were booked (it was a last minute thing). We never stay at hotels that cheap because usually the price somewhat reflects the hotel, but we took a chance and this hotel was fantastic- it's not the Ritz we usually stay at- but it really turned out to be a wonderful find. Our view was fantastic- the corner room, 13th floor overlooked the river and the city skyline- it was breathtaking! It was exceptionally clean, newly renovated with stylish decor, a large plasma tv, large bathroom with marble rain shower and a plasma tv. Best thing- it's only a few minutes to the Magnificent Mile! I definitely recommend it.

thanks everyone for advice, but, I found a really good rate at the ALLERTON HOTEL on Michigan Ave. I see from posts it's not top notch with a lot of amenities, but, will suit our needs for a couple nights. Just wondering if anyone can comment on this hotel, I've booked it anyway. Thanks
