I am inquiring as to whether anyone is familiar with this hotel in Newport, Rhode Island and if so any comments would be appreciated. I am looking for a decent place for a September stay.
Thanks,
Annie

I haven't stayed there, but I can comment on the location. It does have a beautiful view, but depending on how much time you are going to spend at the beach itself (you didn't say when in September) there really isn't a whole lot in walking distance except 3-4 restaurants and some typical "beach" shopping. You will need a car to get to almost all Newport attractions, unless you want to walk 1 mile to the Cliff Walk. The website lists "Downtown Newport" as 1 mile away, but the Newport Harborfront area, where most of the activities are, is actually closer to 2 miles away. If you don't mind hopping in the car the whole time and get a good deal on the room, the location is probably fine, but you might consider something actually downtown.
