I'm looking for recommendations on a cabin to rent for a winter weekend getaway for two (without the children!!). A somewhat updated cabin is preferred with a wood burning fireplace. We're just looking to get away, mostly stay indoors, do our own cooking, relax. We live in the Cincinnati, OH area so something within 2-3 hours drive would be perfect.
IN/KY/OH CABIN?

Have you checked into Hocking Hills?
DH and I stayed in one of the crofts at Glenlaurel, it is everything you are looking for, except I think the fireplace was gas...
Oh those look really cute. Is dinner and breakfast included in the price? If so, what a deal! Thank you very much.
When we stayed our dinner and breakfast were included; both were very tasty and the dining area is very quaint and homey. I do believe they offer packages that either include your meals or you can go without. They are very accomodating.
If you have never been to Hocking Hills it is a dry town so you can bring your own if you choose. We brough a bottle of wine to dinner, they tag the bottle with your name and serve you.
If you have not been to Hocking Hills for a romatic weekend, you must try it. Most cabins come with hot tub on porch and most are in the woods so they are very private. Check: http://www.hockinghills.com/
Hocking Hills is what you are looking for...The Old Man's Cave 'walk' is coming up also. Check out the Inn @ Cedar Falls. Nice cabins (not sure about a fp though) a spa & great dining as well.
