I also live in Indy. The track (16th & Georgetown) and racing museum are must sees. The Museum of Art is fine if you like that sort of thing. The new IMAX3D downtown is amazing. St. Elmo's is legendary for Steak and Palomino has excellent cuisine (both at Circle Center downtown). Truth be told, Indy is a fantastic place to live (no crime, low cost of living, good weather, etc.) but short of sporting events, shopping and restaurants, there are no eye-popping sights (see e.g. grand canyon, world trade center, bourbon street, etc.) The city is safe at all hours, and you won't spend too much on anything, so relax and have fun!

Much of my family lives in Indy. From a young person's point of view (twenties), I go cheap and fun. The best spots for cuisine are The Spaghetti Factory in the heart of downtown and The Hong Kong Inn (on the east side, I believe), the best Chinese food in all of Indy. Be sure to ask for their peppermint ice cream! yum! The Children's Museum is a cool spot, even if you don't have kids. Have fun. Indy is a great night spot, as well!!!

I recently relocated back to Dallas after living in Indianapolis for a year. Restaurants: Ruth's Chris (downtown); Bertolinis; & California Cafe are the city's best. For an appetizer of Shrimp Cocktail, don't miss St. Elmo's...however, the steaks are mediocre compared to Ruth's Chris. On the north side, be sure & don't miss the seafood @ The Keystone Grill...great shopping too. There is also a great steakhouse at The Keystone @ The Crossing by the seafood restaurant, but it's name escapes me. Visit Broad Ripple, an artsy area, and don't miss the pizza at the Urban Jack or Italian @ La Mezzaluna. There is a great guitar shop there that sells the latest CDs (resold) for 1/2 their original price. Indianapolis is a great city, with great people, and plenty to do. Be sure & see "The" Track, visit The Indiana Repertory Theatre (downtown); see where the Pacers play...go Reggie and Larry Bird!; and don't miss the Music Coliseum. I don't know where you are staying but I lived at the Westin & their staff is great. Ask for a room facing the east. If you have time go down to Bloomington and Nashville, Indiana. Have fun!
