It's been a few years ago, but we stayed at the Embassy Suites and liked it. It would have the separate area for the others in your family. It used to have ducks in the atrium (central area that were kinda neat.
Crown Plaza Hotel at Union Station. Built inside part of the old historic Union Station. You can sleep in authentic old restored Pullman cars located on 2 tracks inside the hotel (the cars have modern rooms, not the old Pullman berths). Lots of fun for kids (and us adults who like trains). Easy walking to anywhere downtown.
