Just wanted to leave a tip that the Fenelon Place Elevator in Dubuque, Iowa, is a great short stop if you're just passing through the city and looking for somewhere to stretch your legs.
It's a 200' incline railway that was built in the 1800's for the convenience of a banker who didn't enjoy his half-hour buggy ride from his home on the bluffs to his office just below in town.
Round-trip fare is $2 for adults and $1 for kids.
There are great views of the city from the top. Dubuque is beautiful with the bridges and old buildings.
