Ideas for weekend in New England?

Been to Nantucket and the Vineyard, Newport and Rockport --- looking for perhaps something different for a long weekend in May. Price not too much of an issue - want to be near the water and a nice town with some quaintness and good restaurants. Any help would be appreciated!

How about Portsmouth NH? lots of B&B's,and quaint old houses to visit, nearby shopping in Kittery, and good restaurants. Another option, though I've not been there, would be Portland ME. I keep hearing what a great place to go for a weekend and plan to check it out one of these days.

It's not the ocean, but how about Burlington, Vermont on Lake Champlain?? There are some great restaraunts and shops, and active arts and music scene, and plenty of other "attractions" nearby--Shelburne Farms is a huge estate on right on the Lake that you can tour. I also believe there is an Inn there or nearby. Shelburne Museum is great. You could also visit Stowe which hosts a myriad of good restaraunts.
