Ideas for overnight stays in SLC?
Hi. Do any of you travelers have any recommendations for 2 overnight stays in SLC. We will be flying in late June 21, leaving the next day to drive to the Tetons. After that we will be visiting Yellowstone and Glacier. I have booked all of our stays in the Parks, but need to reserve a room for either end of the trip in SLC. I'm thinking either a hotel near the airport or downtown. We would like to spend a few hours to see the Mormon Tabernacle Church or anything that would be close before or after our trip. Thanks!

We've won Little America a couple of times on Priceline and loved it. Bid for a 4-star (biddingfortravel.com should show you some winning bids for a price idea).

Grand America is next door; haven't stayed there but think it may even be a bit nicer.

Rehearsals are on Thursdays except as noted. http://www.mormontabernaclechoir.org...rsals?lang=eng
Are you planning on being back to SLC by Thursday afternoon?
Going to the Tetons, you might want to stay in Evanston WY on the way. This would get you on the way to the Tetons an hour and a half earlier on Sunday. Sunday morning can be quite busy in Salt Lake City.

I second Little America.
Right beside the main building is a two-story motel-type building connected to the main hotel.
I wanted that as we had the morning before catching an early afternoon flight home. We had breakfast and toured the city on foot. Then took the downtown trolly back to the hotel, checked out and took our suitcases down to the car. You park motel style.
The hotel is very nice. I would definitely stay there again.
The downtown area is about a 10 minute drive to the airport.

Hi Myer! We've stayed in both the tower and the motel-style annex building you mentioned. The tower the first time, and we were just blown away by the room. Then when we got the "motel style" building, we were prepared to hate it. Absolutely not, as it turns out. We had a beautiful ground floor room with a little patio (privacy fenced), and it was snowing, and we could look out and see the flakes settle on all the shrubbery. Just beautiful. Room spacious and very nice inside, just not quite as fancy as the tower. Didn't matter at all.
Our friends who travel with us on vacation still talk about Little America. Considering that this was a Priceline win, the quality was far more than what one might expect for the price.

sludick, Little America is among the nicer motel-style rooms I've stayed in. I was quite surprised with their motel rooms.
I wanted the motel part for a quick, airport getaway.
I only stayed once so haven't seen the hotel rooms. However, we had breakfast in the restaurant and the lobby is very nice.
Not what I expected from "Little" America.
