Bryant Park or Wollmann? I am looking for overall ambience. I will be in NYC from 7th-17th. I want to go on a weekday.

Wollman Rink
If you're not going with your own skates realize that both likely offer, figure skates and hockey skates.
My darling mrlou didn't realize this and he was quite the hit at Rockofeller Center a few years ago, skating in the rain, in his cashmere jacket and slacks. Every time he looked up to me he smiled and wiped out in the 1/4 inch puddle of ice.
Who knew you could request what type of skates. But they were grand memories, and the only fatality was his jacket - well worth the life memory and the laughter!
Unless it's changed, that rink in BP is tiny. There is no room, but hey, it's just like our apartments. Cramped and crowded.
Thank you
I think BP is free...not sure. But I still feel Central Park and Wollman Rink is the way to go! The view of the skyline at night is magical.
