Hurricane Matthew damage along Florida East Coast?

My spouse and I plan to spend Christmas on Amelia Island, stopping one nite on the way from Atlanta at St. Mary's Georgia. We'd visit Fernandina Beach and probably St. Augustine as well.
I'd welcome feedback from anyone with knowledge of damage in this beautiful area.

Topping this for you. If things "up there" are like they were down here in Fort Lauderdale post-Sandy, the "damages" could last for years, unfortunately. From that storm our problems centered mainly on eroded beach areas as well as partial road collapses and that was from a storm which stayed well off-shore.

North of here where Matthew made a greater impact I am certain someone will eventually comment about for you.

St. Augustine has recovered very nicely from Hurricane Matthew. There are still some piles of debris on A1A south of the city (near Crescent Beach).

They are still fixing the road on Flager beach. It was washed away in sections. They are still picking up debris, lots of dead branches still needing a pick up in south Volusia. Hotels are still recovering in Daytona.

Thanks folks. We don't plan to go south of St. Augustine. The places we're staying are open and say everything is O.K., so we'll go for it.

Does anybody know how New Smyrna Beach is doing?
We're heading down to Florida early February and will be spending a few days there.
Thanks.

You can see damage but will be ok by Feb in New Smyrna. Everything is open, just a lot of limbs down.
