Huntsville, AL to Greenville, SC

We are leaving this week to pick up our children in Greenville. Does anyone have any suggestions of places of interest to stop between the two points? We will be traveling with a 4 year old. Please help!! As I am a teacher, this will be a much needed mini vacation.

Are you planning on going through Chattanooga to I75 south to Atlanta to I85 or are you going US431 or US231 to I20 then east to Atlanta to I85?

It really doesn't matter. We can travel either way. We have thought about the Atlanta Zoo and even the Chattanooga Choo-Choo. Just really would like any suggestion. Thanks for responding.

Chatanooga has the Tennessee Aquarium (four year old should love to see all the fishes and frogs and slimey things), Rock City (See Seven States and the Fairyland Gardens which a 4 year old would love), Ruby Falls (may be a bit too scary for a four year old as they turn out the lights to show how dark pitch black really is), Point Park (Civil War Battlefield on tip of Lookout Mountain), The Hunter Museum, Lake Winne (an amusement park geared towards toddlers), in addition to the Choo Choo.

Going US431: Gadsden: Noccalulu Falls. Anniston: Berman Museum and Anniston Museum of Natural History.

Atlanta is bustling with things to do. Atlanta Zoo. Cyclorama. Stone Mountain. World of Coca-Cola. Carter Center. Sweet Auburn and MLK Site.

Of course, a four year old may not enjoy some of these things, but then again, he/she just might.

If it were me, I'd go through Chattanooga, down I75 to Atlanta to I85 to Greenville. US431 is quicker, but there is more to do through Chattanooga.

Enjoy your "mini vacation".
