I live in Huntsville so I have never stayed anywhere here, but that said- there is a Hampton Inn over at Guntersville Lake (40 min. from Huntsville) that you might want to check out.I don't know if they rent boats, jetskis or what, I have just driven by it to our lake house. Also the Marriott (which has an outdoor and indoor pool) is right next to the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville. You could then also take the kids downtown to the park and the Early Works museum. Enjoy your visit!
this is really for my brother (Army) who is moving to Fort Polk after a 4 yr stint in Germany where they became quite used to family resorts with lots of activities for kids. Anything like that that you know of?
Check out Joe Wheeler State Park. That may be to your brother's liking?
You may want to check out Double Head Resort in Town Creek, Al. They have a lake, pool, water activities, etc.
