I recently posted here about security lapses I witnessed on a trip, and have read many posts describing lax measures as well as good policies. It occurs to me that those of us who fly often see the best and worst of airport security around the country.
Well, here's how to report it effectively instead of just moaning about here on Fodor's. Go to http://www.tsa.gov/public/contactus
There is a form for positive comments, complaints, security issues, etc.
I am perhaps naive in thinking that if we all raise %$&* about some of the nonsense we see, and praise the hard-working security staff who are on the ball, it can only help this country get its security measures in order.

Thanks for posting the website E, good to know. Many countries have a lot of work to do, including my own (Canada).
About a month ago Global National, one of our news agencies, videotaped one delivery truck after another driving right up onto the tarmac at Pearson Airport in Toronto. They had access to any airplane of their choice. What kind of security did they go through? Practically none, flashed a badge at a guard who half paid attention and off they went, free to roam around. Frightening!
Oh, atilla, how depressing. Where does personal responsibility enter into the equation? Where is the airport employee who will say "This procedure/policy/behavior is wrong--I won't do it, and I won't let anyone else get away with it." I understand most wage slaves don't want to be bothered, but wasn't 9/11 (and Madrid) enough to wake them all up?
And please don't think I exempt policy makers and the other Powers That Be--it's just that it's easier to hide your head in the sand if you don't SEE these flagrant lapses in security with your own two eyes.
Sigh. I'm worked up about this today. I'm sure I'll slip back into complacency by tomorrow.
You are so right E, if 9/11 wasn't enough of a wake up call, nothing will be, it seems almost hopeless to think that things will change. Terrorists are opportunists, and sadly at the present time there is plenty of opportunity. The entire Western Hemisphere has to get their act together. If our Canadian airports are vulnerable, it creates even further opportunity for terrorists to enter the U.S. and vice-versa, when you are vulnerable, so are we.
I sent a concern I had to the TSA and to the airport administration where I saw something questionable and got a form e-mail back. My concern was regarding all of the airport food concessions that sell beverages in glass bottles and allow them to be taken away from the food vendor. Seemed to me if I can't bring an eyelash curler through security I shouldn't have access to a glass I could break and do who knows what with.
