How much time in Vegas?

We're going to visit national parks in southern Utah and Las Vegas. I've never been to Vegas before and I'm not a gambler but I want to see the hotels and other attractions. Is one night enough to see Vegas or should we spend more time in Las Vegas?

If you aren't into gambling or seeing a show, I think one night would be more than enough. My friends and I DO enjoy the typical Vegas activities and we live by a "three day rule." That is, never spend more than 3 days. It can get tiresome.

I was in Vegas for two nights and it wasn't enough for me. Each hotel has their own attractions.
I'm not a gambler either.

2 or 3 days if you want to see hotels, shows and try out various restaurants and buffets. In 2 full days you really can't take in all of the big hotels, but it will get a good idea.

Lena - I have a sure fire way to answer this question.

When you think of visiting Las Vegas, are you skeptical that you'll enjoy it? Do you think gamblers are filthy people? Do you hate the smell of cigar smoke? Do you prefer watching PBS over CBS? Would you rather see "Chocolat" over "Moulin Rouge?" If your answer is yes to all of these, spend 2 days in Vegas.

If your answer was no to the above questions, you could spend anywhere from 3 days to 7 days.

Before people follow up with: "HEY WAIT! I watch PBS and I happen to LOVE Las Vegas." Yes, there are exceptions to this rule. So congratu-freakin-lations.

We just spent 4 and a half days in Las Vegas last March. Had never been there before and am not a gambler. We took day trips to Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon - without those trips, two days there would have been plenty.

I don't think you'll be happy with just one night. The town is so large and has so much to do, even if you're not gaming. Most people that say they're not "gamblers" end up burning a few nickels in the slot machines.

I just got back last week from bryce and zion canyons, and las vegas. I am not a big gambler, but I say at least 3 nights in vegas. there is so much to do. Spend a night visiting fremont street. It is incredible. I have been to vegas approx 7 times, and 5 nts I usually stay, and that is never enough to do the things I want. By the way, bryce was the most beautiful place I have seen, and I have traveled the world.

If you are just there to hit the highlights and don't plan on spending time seeing any shows or being pampered at the Spa, one night will be fine for just the highlights.

I'd think 2 nights would be a better option, but you are the one spending the money.

In either one or two days, I'd suggest you skip going to downtown Vegas. The Fremont Street experience is pretty overrated. I'd also avoid an out of the way visit to places like Circus Circus, the Stardust, the Riviera.

Definately catch a fountain show, or two, at Bellagio followed by a walk around their lobby area. Venetian, the Pirate Ship battle at Treasure Island, Paris, are all good places to see.

With no gambling but spending sometime poolside, i think 3-4 days is good to see Vegas in a relaxing fashion (including a visit downtown).

2-3 days is sufficient if you want to rush from place to place.

But 1 nite is definately NOT sufficient (IMO).
