My parents go to L.V. at least 4 times a year. They do not rent a car at the airport because it is more expensive than going to a neighboring car rental agency. I think it is 2 minutes from the airport, maybe $5 cab fare, or possibly free shuttle. Ask the car rental companies for more information.

Do not rent a car just to go from the airport to the hotel. Cab rides from McCarren to the hotel should run no more than $10. Make sure you tell the cab driver to go the quick way, apparently there is a longer way that many will take that costs much more. Also, if you want to arrive in style (why not you're at the Bellagio), make a reservation with Las Vegas Limousines. While I have never used them, I hear they are reasonable and will pick you up in a stretch.

don't take a cab. Take a limo. For 4.00 you can have Las Vegas Limo pick you up at the Bellagio and take you to the airport. We always take the Limo. Just call them in advance the day you need to leave and let them know what time you need to be picked up. Their number is in the yellow pages under limos. It's much better than a taxi. Cheaper too !

Paige,
Just returned from Vegas Sunday (2/11) and the cab fare from the Venetian was exactly $10 (excluding tip). The Bellagio should be slightly less if anything, since it is slightly closer (not much) to the airport than the Venetian. But I would expect the cab fare to be VERY similar! $10 plus tip should hit it very close!
