My husband and I will be visiting DC for the first time in October. Is it worth the trip to go to Willamsburg to see Bushgardens? It would only be a day trip as we only have 4 days in Washington.
How far is it to Bushgardens, Virgina from DC?

I guess it depends on what you enjoy, but with only 4 days in DC, I wouldn't bother with Busch Gardens. Of course, if you prefer amusement parks to museums, then you should go ahead and do it. I don't remember exactly how long it took to get there from DC, but I remember that it was very doable as a daytrip.
It's 151 miles from DC to Williamsburg - all interstate.
But there are other amusement parks closer by. I think King's Dominion is still closed after the accident, but there's always the Universal Studios park.
Hi Cass - Count on travel time taking 3 hours each way.....minimum. Interstates 95 and 64 are VERY heavily traveled. Enjoy your trip!
Cass,
I think BG is 3-4 hrs away from DC. Kings Dominion, (which never closed down, by the way, only the Shockwave was closed which reopened that weekend after that ride and ALL the others were inspected) is about an hour away, if that, and in my opinion, better than busch gardens, which I think is boring and doesn't have as many rides as KD. Hope this helps!
Bridget =)
