How far from San Fran to Mendocino

In my experience that drive takes four hours. People will tell you it's not that long (my husband swears it's a three hour drive) but it really is four hours. Are you making a loop from San Francisco? If so, then I'd do Pt. Reyes, then Mendocino, and hit Healdsburg on the way back off of 101 (you'd be on 1 on the way up).

Oh, and you are doing this trip over a few days I hope? It's way too much for one day. Check out the wineries on 128 on your way from Mendocino to Healdsburg. Yorkville has my very favorite wine, a Petit Verdot, and Husch has a really nice Chenin Blanc.

Katherine,
It's Mr., if it makes a difference. Your type of question is asked on this board over and over, and over and over, again daily.
This site is not a travel agent. It is for help after you have figured some basic things out, which you obviously have not done. Looking at a map would make your basic agenda a no brainer.
Questions about what to do in Mendocino and Healdsburg, which of two or three hotels to stay at, etc. is more what this site was designed for.
This, hopefully, is a response you will consider constructive. Actually, I thought getting a map/mapquest/AAA was constructive since your original question was ..........well....not the best one on the board this century.
