Here we go again folks, fasten your seatbelts.
nancy,
To answer the question in your header "HOw far between San Jose airport and San Francisco??"
According to Mapquest, it is 32.64 miles and will take 37 minutes driving an a good day.
For more information, you might want to put forth the effort to do a search on the website of San Jose International Airport where answers to the rest of your question might be readily available.
Mr. Search
I'm with Nancy on this one. Never heard of shuttles between the airports. Living in SF I wouldn't know how to get from one to another.
I checked the SJ int'l airport website (I did not know before I need to add "international" in the search to find it, thank you for that, mr search) and did not get any info about any transportation from SJ to SF airport directly. Same with SFO website. There is a list of shuttles, but will they take me from one airport to another?
Sometimes I wonder how some of you people find your way around the grocery store without a map.
Directly from the SJC International Airport website comes this bit of wisdom:
"South Bay Flyer (Serendipity Land Yachts Inc.)
Providing daily round trip service from San Jose International Airport to San Francisco International Airport
http://www.landyacht.com
888-463-5937"
Pretty simple if you put forth one ounce of effort that many posters are unwilling to do.
Mr. Search
Bit don't ya see Mr.Search why should I put forth an effort? People like you do it for us!!
THANKS....I agree....easier if you do it!!
Hey Nancy:
Your header asked the distance between San Jose airport (SJC) and San Francisco. Your message asks the distance between the two airports (SJC and SFO). Are you simply going from one airport to the other? SFO is NOT located in the city of San Francisco and so responses to the two questions are quite different.
Also, are you looking for the cheapest or fastest way between the two? As for cheapest, you can take VTA bus #10 from SJC to Caltrain (no charge). This bus runs every 15 mins on weekdays. Then, Caltrain takes about an hour to the Millbrae station (every half hour, costs $4.50). Finally, there's a free shuttle from the Millbrae station to SFO meeting every train from San Jose. It is free. This would NOT be fastest, but it would be the cheapest way.
As Mr. Search pointed out, the Serendipity Land Yacht offers shuttle service between SJC and SFO airports. The distance is about 38 miles. The public transportaion option: route VTA #10 bus to Santa Clara Caltrain station to Millbrae station and transfer to free Caltrain-SFO shuttle is also a viable option. However, if you have a lot of luggage, I would take the shuttle instead.
