Houston, TX - Feb 8 --12 - What to do?
We'll be in Houston for business meetings, then taking a couple of days to hang out. Haven't been in years so we're looking for suggestions on what to see, do and places to eat. All suggestions are welcome, hubby is not a fan of Asian food tho.

Many great museums in Houston.

Much to do in the Galveston area including Moody Gardens with it's Aquarium, Rainforest, etc.

While in Galveston, go down to the historic "Strand" with it's lovely old architecture, shops and restaurants.

We love seafood and there are many great seafood restaurants in Houston and Galveston. Also, we have several great steak houses including Ruth's Chris, Morton's and Flemings.
February is a good time to be in Houston. Our weather is seldom freezing cold and sometimes, like today, it's in the 70's during the day and 50's at night.

The Galleria is nice for shopping. I'd go to NASA and Kemah together since those are close to each other. We love the rain forest pyramid at Moody Gardens in Galveston mentioned above, nice aquarium too. The Spot is a nice place to grab a burger down there. There are also tons of neat historic homes like Bishop's Palace that you can tour. There's an excellent King Tut exhibit at the MFAH right now. And there's always the Houston zoo. Churrasco's has great South American food. If you want something upscale, Mark's is wonderful. Perry's is a good steakhouse as well. If you want something cheap, Torchy's Tacos is the new trendy hot spot. We like Yia Yia Mary's for Greek. Niko Niko's is popular too. Bayou Bend has some beautiful gardens, probably not the best time of year to tour there though. Houston also has a great theater district. Check out the Alley, the Wortham, Jones Hall, etc. if it interests you.
