Our family of four is heading to Maui for 10 days over the holidays.
Normally, we need to get 2 rooms in a hotel to accomodate all of us. A friend who goes to maui every year swears up and down that renting a condo, such as this is the ONLY way to go.

Can a family of 4 be comfy and secure in a condo in Maui? I only ask as the hotels seem limited in number and pretty expensive

I love having a condo when in Maui...usually cheaper than a hotel, you know exactly what the room looks like, you have access to a kitchen (nice to have breakfast or lunch in the condo and keep down prices), and it's especially nice to have a washer and dryer available.
Since there are 4 of you and you normally need two hotel rooms, I would say that a condo is a no-brainer.
I'm going with my parents to Hawaii in November, and the 3 of us have rented 2 bedroom condos in both Maui and Big Island. I would think a family of 4 would be fine in a 2BR bathroom.
We always stay in condos. Love it. Have full kitchen so can buy fresh fish and enjoy meal on the BBQ. Then buy breakfast/lunch items for the condo so can splurge on dinner.
Usually W/D in unit, so can take less clothes.
I highly recommend it. Tons at vrbo.com.
Absolutely, but why would you want to stay there when there are so many much better places?!
troll alert?
Sylvia, fo sho. Who posts like that first time out? Why just that condo?
Well I guess he was right! he recommended a few, as well as the vrbo. He likes that complex b/c its near Cam3?(sp) (not sure what he meant by that)
Thanks for the input guys.
Kamaole III is a beach in Kihei. There is Kamaole I, II, and III
I liked Lahaina Shores, a condo hotel, just south of the town of Lahaina.
But I don't think a family of four would fit into one room there either.
