"decent" and "reasonable" are relative terms, so I'm not sure what you mean by them, but I know what I mean by them. Try the Cal-Mar Hotel. 3rd and California. A bit funky in that Santa Monica kind of way but well-located and very reasonable for that area. They are little apartments with kitchen and living rooms, maid service, and a tropically planted pool area. It's two stories. I stay there.
I'm also looking in Santa monica....try Sea shore motel on 2637 Main st. looks good from the web, but if anyone has info, that would be helpful. About $75-90 for a Queen size bed.
