Hotel/Restaurant Help San Diego
Hello,
Second try, so hope this is not a repeat.
We are an older couple who will be visiting our son who now lives in San Diego over the Thanksgiving holiday. Have made a reservation at the Ocean park Inn based on proximity to the beach, location and cost. Any comments on this hotel or area would be appreciated.
Need suggestions for a casual/family style restaurant to eat Thanksgiving Day meal. Does not have to be the traditional turkey meal but that is o.k.
Thank you for taking the time to answer.

Our family stayed at the Ocean Park Inn in March of 2002. While the hotel is not new, it had been recently updated and served our purposes well. It is right on the water, and walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. rooms were a good size with queen beds (not doubles)
there was a microwave and mini fridge in our room. The bathrooms were what dated this hotel. Nothing wrong with them, as they were newly painted up, but the fixtures were older and the tiling was dated. The hotel serves continental breakfast each morning just off the lobby behind the huge saltwater fish tank
(Just breads and pastries, no cereal or fruit) but there is a grocery store and a Starbucks just across the street for the extras you might need, and then you have a fridge to put it in. The pool is the size of a postage stamp, but it was nice and warm, and the hot tub felt wonderful after a full day of sightseeing . The pool area is glassed off, so you do not get the wind off the ocean. There was also free gated and covered parking under the hotel. This hotel, while not deluxe, was perfect for our family stay.
