Our friends are staying at the Pink Shell Resort in FMB. We would like to meet with them, but the $229 rate seems high.
Is there a no frills place on the beach, maybe in the $150 range?
Also, I need a recommendation on a family friendly modestly priced restaurant that would be convenient for them. Nobody is a picky eater.

Lighthouse Rest.-Fun-good food-Ft Myers address but near you
Silver Sands Villas is great. It's in the middle of everything, a short walk to the pier and Times Square and across the road from the beach. Silver Sands is a group of old-Florida style cottages around a lovely pool. The staff are very pleasant and I highly recommend it. They have a website for further information - www.silversands-villas.com
The Beach Pierside grill is right next to Times Sq at the pier and has good food, outside seating, and is very casual...

We love The Beached Whale for family meals. Inexpensive, but good. Sit upstairs in the late afternoon or early evening and enjoy the world go by. Also, try breakfast at Heavenly Biscuit, always fun.
