We will be traveling from New Jersey to Louisville, Ky and would like to stop in West Virginia for one night. Where would a good stopping point be and a good hotel for the night?

Are you going to be coming down I-79 from Morgantown to Charleston? If so you will need to stay either in the Bridgemont/Fairmont area or you'll have to wait till you get to Charleston. There is Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, etc. in Bridgemont & Fairmont. Nothing fancier than that but those are right off the interstate. After Bridgeport there is NOTHING till you get to Charleston. The cell phone reception is very spotty throught that section too.
go to freetrip.com and check off hotels in your rice range. The listings will come up for the whole trip.
Thank you for all the information. I have to see which route we are going to take.
