Oops---I failed to target this for St. Louis. Please disregard this post and I will repost under St. Louis.
There is no way to post this under St. louis--it's just one big US board. I'd suggest using St. Louis in your subject line.
Nancy,
There is a brand new Hampton Inn and Suites across from Forest park on the south side.....which is just a hop skip and jump to the Hill.
I do not know of any on the Hill per se'.
I have stayed at Hampton Suites and since they are new they tend to be nice. Prices are reasonable as well.
If you want more upscale try The Chase park Plaza. It is a beautiful old hotel with a great vibe in the central west end. I bet they have great weekend specials too!!
There's also a Holiday Inn even closer, but it's kind of "meh".
The Hampton Inn would be the best bet: it's less than a year old.
There is a Holiday Inn and there is a Red Roof Inn off of Hampton Ave and I-44. Agree with previous posts, however, that these properties might not be in tip top shape. I think the Hampton Inn and the Chase are very nice suggestions. They are both close to Forest Park with the Muny outdoor theater, the Science Center, and the History Museum. Have a good trip.
