Going to the Stones concert (the field) on August 26. I am looking for a place to eat before the concert and a place for breakfast, brunch or lunch on Saturday A.M. I would also like to know if anyone can tell me about the Holiday Inn Express in Brainard. Is this a good area? or should I look elsewhere? Thanks

This is a post to my post. I made a mistake about the Holiday Inn. It is not in Brainard but on Brainard St. Just wondering about the area and good food. Details in original post. Thanks.
Anyone out there with any info on Hartford Ct. I have only driven through never stopped. See my original post. Thanks
Hi, I'm always busy and post late; but does anyone have info on Harford Connecticut? Food & lodging for the Stones Concert.
See other post on Hotels Near Rentschler Field for hotel information. Would not recommend anything in Brainard Road area unless you are really looking for a bargain. Downtown has some great hotels and great restaurants. Offhand I don't know which restaurants do a Sunday brunch - but I would suggest going into switchboard.com for telephone numbers and calling - and I would make reservations for the night of the concert, Hartford's going to be mobbed. Some recommended restaurants for dinner and also checking into for brunch: Max Downtown (sophisticated, innovative), Pastis (casual French) , Black Eyed Sally's (fun and great food), Trumbull Cafe (bistro style), Agave (innovative Mexican), Tapas on Ann, Spris and Vito's by the Park (both upscale but reasonable Italian). Hartford is working on its viablity as a destination city - you won't be disappointed!
I agree with viv555, I live in Wethersfield, the first town south of Hartford and I wouldn't stay in the Brainard Road area either. There are a lot of hotels in downtown Hartford. There's a brand new Marriott next to the brand new convention center, there's the Hilton, The Goodwin, The Bond and the Holiday Inn Express. There's also quite a bit to do in the city and the surrounding area -- the city's in the midst of a resurgence right now -- so you'll find plenty of great restaurants (viv555's suggestions are right on) as well as plenty of historic sites and waterfront attractions worth seeing.
If you'd rather stay closer to the field, there's a Holiday Inn on Route 84 in East Hartford just minutes from the stadium.
Have a great time!
