Hotel by Interim Amtrak Train Station - Denver

OK - I am confused exactly where the interim Amtrak station in Denver is location (compared to the one they are renovating). I've looked on the web but would appreciate some help.

We are looking for a hotel room for a Monday night this Fall close to the interim Amtrak station - preferably around or under $200.00 per night. We are fine with most hotel types as long as they are safe and beds are comfy (i.e. we are not using hotel points and we are ok with most hotel decors could be historic or modern for example).

We would however prefer a place close to a restaurant as well or has an on site restaurant.

We plan to just taxi (or if close enough) walk to the Amtrak station in the morning about 6:45 in the morning.

Appreciate your advise in advance - thanks so much.

On the left side of the Amtrak page on the Bottom line is hotels, rental cars that are close to the Amtrak stations.

The interim station is at 1800 21st Street.
The Ramada Downtown (1.3 mi) is the cheapest hotel VQ is a bit more expensive also 1.3miles. The most expensive but only .5 mi.
is the Comfort Inn Downtown.
When I travel westbound on the Zephyr, I stay in Glenwood Springs.

Thanks very much tomfuller.

We're headed our morning also to Glenwood Springs...
then on to Grand Junction to spend some time at Arches....

Very helpful; much appreciate it; Comfort Inn will work great. Thanks so much.

We stayed at the Residence Inn on Champa. It included breakfast, free internet and even a light dinner.

Wow, I didn't even know there is now an interim Amtrak station in my home town! The things you learn on Fodor's. The Oxford Hotel is relatively close, but might be more expensive than you want. Safe travels!

My only suggestion is that you don't plan on walking from the station, no matter where you stay. The station is only a few blocks from the heart of downtown, but it's not very walker-friendly, especially at such an off-hour. What about the Marriott Courtyard downtown? The Rialto Restaurant is right there, plus lots of other options nearby.

Sorry you won't get to arrive at Union Station--it's really quite something, or at least it will be when they finish renovating. Maybe next time. Have a great trip!
