Hot Sulphur Springs, CO worth a stay?

Hot Sulphur Springs, CO worth a stay?
Hi! Wondering if HSS is worth a visit and a stay. Considering staying at the Hot Sulphur Springs Resort & Spa. Have already spent time in Winter Park, Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper, Vail, Beaver Creek & Steamboat Springs. Looking for something else to discover.
We go to Aspen every year, end of summer for a volleyball event my husband plays in and are always looking for a 1-2 night stop along the way from which we can find close hiking, great scenery, and great mountain air. We drive in W. on I-70 or thur Colorado Springs.
We're running out of ideas that are not too far off I-70 so as not to make our trip too terribly long. The SW portion of Colorado (i.e. Durango, Telluride, etc.) is too far as is Rocky Mt. Nat'l Park.
Is Hot Sulphur Springs worth a 1 or 2 nights stay or is it just worth driving thru? What about the Grand Lake area?
Any help is much appreciated! Thanks?

Stephie - where is Hot Sulphur Springs? Is this in Idaho Springs? If it is, I would say No. We stopped in and took a look around the vapor caves looked very slimey. My husband wasn't impressed, either, and said he overheard two girls talking about all the bugs near the main pool. He didn't get the impression they were small bugs, either!
I know these aren't in your area, but our favorite hot springs in CO were Glenwood Springs and the hot springs pool in Ouray. In the future, you should definitely consider a trip over the Ouray/Telluride area of SW Colorado. It's our favorite area. Karen

We drove through Hot Sulphur Springs a few weeks ago (in search of a trout fishing stream). As I recall there was nothing there but a lot of aluminum buildings and small homes. Certainly not a destination town, I can't imagine that they have a resort. I recall reading that the "Springs" there are actually toxic. Not a hot spring pool area.
I know you said RMP is too far, but if you're staying a few nights it's not that far from Aspen. How about Estes Park? You seem to have been to every other area I would recommend near Aspen. You could go to the Glenwood Springs pool and spa. They have a lodge there. But IMHO it's just a really warm municipal pool.
