Honolulu
I will vacation on Maui next week. I need some assistance with my interisland trip to Honolulu for one day. Our flight arrives at 9am and departs from Honolulu at 7pm. What all can I accomplish during my visit? Interested in the Polynesian Culture Center, Downtown Honolulu, and Chinatown. I heard that it's a 2 hour drive from the airport to PCC. I don't want to waste the day driving. Please help. Wishing to make the most of my limited time.

The Polynesian Cultural Center is something that I would not spend most of my Oahu day on. I think the best part of it is the evening show anyway. I'd spend that time seeing Pearl Harbor, Bishop Museum and/or Iolani Palace, and if you're especially interested in Chinatown, see that as well. I'd see the "real thing" rather than the PCC, which I wouldn't bother with considering your limited time.

Forget PCC. Go there some other time when you have the entire day. Their 'Horizons' show is the best Polynesian show in Hawaii, but it does not start until 7:30pm.
USS Arizona Memorial
National Cemetery of the Pacific
Driving tour of Honolulu including Aloha Tower, Chinatown, Iolani Palace, Ala Moana Beach Park, Waikiki & the lookouts on Diamond Head Road.

Follow the good advice above... You don't have time for the PCC, with approx 7-8 hours for sight-seeing on Oahu.
Remember you need to allow time to get out of the airport, get your rental car, getting back to the airport, return car, and check in for your flight however early is required.

WOW! That's weird that I'm getting so many comments about PCC. I posted this because it didn't appear that I would have time for everything involved at PCC. Thanks to everyone. You were a great help. Dusty, I'm going to take a Driving tour of Honolulu including Aloha Tower, Chinatown, Iolani Palace, Ala Moana Beach Park, Waikiki & the lookouts on Diamond Head Road. Sounds like a winner.

PCC is worth a visit.. you could definitely check it out with the time you have... keep going around the Island and check out some of the surf spots... if not to surf, at least check 'em out.
We visited there in 2002 here are some reasons and things to check out http://www.999reasons.com/content/view/41/54/
