honeymoon in sevierville, tn and surrounding area, what to do?

My fiance and I are getting married Nov 7th and are taking our honeymoon in Sevierville, TN. We are staying at a beautiful cabin at Oak Haven Resort but were looking for suggestions on things to do? Good places for dinner, sites to see, shopping, music, etc?? We were also thinking of taking a daytrip to nashville, if that is close enough. If you have any suggestions please feel free to let us know!

Nashville is not really on the other side of the state, it's in the middle! But, it would take more than three hours to drive to Nashville from Sevierville. If you search this board you will see that there is not a lot of great dining in the Gatlinburg/Sevierville area. You should focus on visiting the Great Smokey Mountains national park and hiking and enjoying all that is there. The weather in November should be great, a little cool and fall colors will be a little past their peak.

Agreed - though Nashville is not quite on the other side of the state, it is a good four-hour drive from Sevierville/Gatlinburg/PF. Besides, I think Nashville deserves at least an overnight on its own.

If you're in Gatlinburg at all, you could try Park Grill or Best Italian Cafe.

Ok, you are on your honeymoon! Oak Haven has a newish spa. You might want to have a couples massage. I haven't been, but I can imagine it is great because every cabin we have rented there has been spectacular. You have your own hot tub on the enclosed porch. Great rocking chairs on the porches. You will love Oak Haven.

As others have said the food is not so great in the area. The above poster likes Best Italian Cafe. I don't care for it. Perhaps the Peddler might be good for one nice dinner. There is another place that I would recommend, but I need to find the name and get back to you.

Here's the place I was thinking of buckhorninn.com

Something that might be fun one night is The Dixie Stampede. The food's not wonderful(you eat with your fingers), but it is good and the show is very good.

Also, Dollywood will already have started their Smoky Mountain Chrismas when you arrive. They have a really nice lights display and some really good shows.

Like the others, I would skip Nashville unless you can stay there for the night. If you want to drive about an hour or so to Asheville, NC, the Biltmore House would be a nice place to visit.

Happy Honeymoon!
