We will be having a honeymoon in February of 1999 we live in central CA and dont want to go too far...Oregon or Las Vegas are the furthest we want to go....we need something romantic..fun...nightlife...not too expensive...HELP?!?!?!

As a suggestion, why not try Lincoln City, Oregon. this is a great place. it has everything you want. Something to chech into. plus this would be the off season, and a lot of the hotels and motels have discounts. in the city they have a outlet mall, and a casino and the beautiful coast. Lincoln City is something I think you would like. Have a great trip and best wishes on yout marriage.
I wouldn't even want to MEET anyone who thinks Lincoln City is a great place for a honeymoon! Ugh. But I suppose if a factory outlet mall, a Indian casino and 9 miles of strip mini malls along route 101 is your idea of a great romantic place, well...ugh!
Well, Las Vegas is Las Vegas, so if that's what you want for a honeymoon, try the Mirage, Hard Rock, if you're younger, or just about anything really.
Now, if you want something romantic in a little seaside town, go to Bandon, Oregon. I assume you're driving, so this is the best place on the southern coast. Especially in Febuary, the storm watching and beach combing should be great.

If you go, you MUST eat at Harp's Restaurant. We have seriously considered making the eight hour drive from Seattle just so we could eat there.
It's a great little town. Have fun whatever you do.
Oh, and I totally agree about Lincoln City. Ick!
I would try South Lake Tahoe. Beautiful scenery, a little bit of nightlife at the casinos at the border, skiing if you want. Lots of choices in terms of accomodations.
Other choices I would recommend are Santa Barbara or Cambria on the coast.

File this under "Not for everyone's taste", but my idea of a romantic time in California in February would be a lodge or chalet in the Sierras; say, near to Yosemite or Sequoia. I'm fully aware a storm is likely to dump 50 cm of snow while you're there, but that means you'll have nothing to do but spend time together near the fire, trying to stay warm -- which, for me, is a very romantic situation.
