Ok...we are going on our honeymoon in May 2008. Price range between $200/night and no more than $350/night...all inclusive would be nice. Love beautiful beach and water, snorkeling, adventure/exploring, relaxing, great food, some shopping, and would like to feel like I'm on my honeymoon (no children and not too crowded)...but some nightlife would be nice. Just having a hard time finding a destination for my honeymoon that isn't super expensive. Always wanted to go to Tahiti for my honeymoon..doing the research and finding out the expense..we are obviously not going there! lol... ANY help is so appreciated!

I have not been to Turks and Caicos but I have been to Bermuda 3 times. Both destinations are short flights from the U. S. I think you could find reasonable resorts on either island.

I have been to Mexico several times but I am not a fan of Mexican resorts. I'm sure you could find reasonable rates at Cancun or San Jose Del Cabos. A new place I have been reading about is Fairmont Mayakoba which is just south of Cancun. Have a nice wedding.

However, I was recently doing research on caribbean resorts and all-inclusives for a possible trip in June to Jamaica.

So here are some suggestions.
The Rockhouse in Jamaica have unique "Cabanas" out on the rocks. It looks beautiful, romantic and is well-reviewed. It is also relatively inexpensive. (not all-inclusive though).

Expedia/Travelocity seem to have decent deals on all-inclusives. Some of the resorts we looked into that appealed to us were....
Couples Negril, Jamaica
Couples Swept Away, Jamaica
These have restaurants/etc, and also provide a shuttle bus to the nightlife in Negril.

Just looked it up. Ladera Resort in St. Lucia is $ 310 a night in summer and $ 385 a night in spring/fall. My business partner honeymooned at Ladera seven years ago and raved about it. When I saw the photos of Ladera, I put it at the top of my list for a second marriage honeymoon. But I have six kids- just a day dream.

I've never been (but my nephew and his bride went on their honeymoon and loved it), but the Riviera Maya (Cancun) seems to have a lot of choices that may even be in your price range. Use hotels.com to find them, just type in "Riviera Maya" under city.

Check out 9 Beaches in Bermuda. They have Tahiti-style over-the-water-cabanas in a gorgeous setting -- and it's all-inclusive.

Well, you know, if you really want to experience the lazy, languid lagoons that French Polynesia is so famous for but can't quite handle the terrible prices there, you could always opt for the Cook Islands. They are very similar to French Polynesia in many respects but quite a bit cheaper. They used to be really cheap but between their increasing popularity and the drastic fall of the dollar, they are no longer quite the bargain they used to be. Still, you can get a nice thatched-roof (but modern) bungalow at a place like the Palm Grove (on my absolute favorite stretch of beach on Rarotonga) for about $250/night US (they use NZ dollars in the Cooks).

If you want to be a bit closer to a little bit of nightlife (very little of this in the Cooks - or in French Polynesia for that matter) you could choose something on Muri Beach. Muri Beach Hideaway has some very nice little bungalows with either a garden or lagoon view for a bit over $200/night US.

These are not big fancy resorts, but rather small more intimate "boutique" type places. Not super fancy, but not dumps eithers, and they are generally located more or less directly on the beach and almost always are seperate, standalone bungalow type lodgings.

There is also the option of renting a small beach house or bungalow such as one of the Bella Beach Units (again, usually right on the beach) for as little as $150/night US or so. Not sure if you'd want to go that route for a honeymoon though.

Note that the first places shown are the most expensive and I generally work down the list in regards to price.

The only really big disadvantage of travel to the Cooks (from the US) is the fact that airfare is rather pricey, generally running $900/pp/rt (or more) from LAX.

Finally, you could always do Hawaii and rent a condo or beach house through something like VRBO.COM (vacation rental by owner). That's a very reasonable way to go - but again, not sure if you'd want to do that for a honeymoon. If you do go this route to Hawaii however you need to be a bit careful right now since many unlicensed vacation rentals are in danger of being closed down.

Anyway, just some ideas to think about.

I go to Cabo in May often and It's not too hot with the breeze, but I come from a hot area with little breeze. There are resorts along the corridor that may be all inclusive though I've never been to one. We have a place that sounds like what you're wanting.
