Honeymoon help -which islands to visit?

We are planning to visit Hawaii for our 2 week honeymoon in June! I would like your advice on duration of stay in each of the islands. We plan to stay in Oahu, Kauai, Maui and maybe, maybe Big Island. I have seen a number of hotels in Oahu that offer the 5th night free so we want to stay in Oahu for 5 days (will that be too long) and 4 days each in Kauai and Maui ---is that enough? We might leave out Big Island but will we regret it?
Thx!!

Susan,

I would do only three islands in two weeks, saving the Big Island for my next trip to Paradise. There are all kinds of discounts you can get, special promotions, using the Entertainment card, etc. I wouldn't let that 5th night free dictate how long I stayed on an island - and besides, you can get that deal at big resorts on the outer islands, too, much of the time.

June is a WONDERFUL time to go. If you are very interested in historical sites, museums, I would give Oahu at least three nights, espcially if one will include "your jetlag" (if you stop there first - especially important if you're coming from the East Coast)." But don't let anyone tell you to spend one night in Oahu to see Pearl Harbor and then move on! There's so much wonderful about Oahu! Sounds as though you have thirteen nights - I would do 3-4 on Oahu, 6 on Maui, 3-4 Kauai.

The Big Island is so much to take in that I'd really save it, tho some will disagree with me.

If you'd like some info on hotels, I'd say use the Entertainment Card and go to Outrigger Waikiki on Oahu, and the Renaissance Wailea on Maui - my favorite place in the world. On Kauai I'd chose a place on the North Shore that time of year - maybe a one bedroom condo at Hanalei Bay Resort on the E. Card.

Have a wonderful trip!

Aloha,

Lani

I would say that Kauai was the nicest island we went to on our recent vacation. You will hear alot from people telling you this hotel was a dump and that hotel was not as good as this etc., but - how bad could anything really be in Hawaii? It all depends on how much you want to spend. We stayed at the Sheraton on Poipu Beach - it was a very nice hotel and they even upgraded us to an ocean view from the partial that we reserved. The grounds were beautiful and the beach great. We stayed in the Sheraton in Maui as well - very nice. Enjoy

I would have to say that my husband and I liked Kauai the best! North shore in June is wonderful-surf is good then too! I would agree that the big island is best saved for another visit. if you do too many islands you spend too much time coming and going. Whever you go you will have a very good time-it is hawaii!
happy Honeymoon

Living in Oahu, you can easily keep busy for five days. There is soo much to do and see here. Endless nightlife, beautiful beaches, world class restaurants. Places to go- Restaurant Row, Aloha Tower, North Shore, Hanauma Bay, Waikiki, Ala Moana Shop Ctr, Waimea Falls Park, and many more.

We went to Hawaii last March (going back this month!. It was our first trip to Hawaii and we went to Oahu, Maui, Big Island and Kuaui over 14 days. It was a bit hectic but we did see and get to enjoy all 4. Kauai (at the Sheraton at Poipu) was our favorite as it had the fewest people around. We have spoken to many who have been to Hawaii and everyone seems to have their favorite island, for whatever reason. Regardless of where you will go, you will have a great time. Kahala Mandarin on Oahu was very special: it is quiet, has good food at Hoku's and 3 dolphins swimming in the hotel lagoon!!

Enjoy you trip!
