aw, man! What did I miss?? I haven't a clue why it got pulled. The last post I read was starville's after mine.
Then I had to let the husband use the computer. Then I had to watch Hells Kitchen. Geepers, can't be away for a couple of hours without missing everything!

It got PULLED???!!! Being away for a whole day is not a good idea. Too many things happen on Fodors.
How can we honestly give our honest opinions if they are honestly travel-related and the thread gets pulled?

GoTravel, wouldn't that be the sweetest irony? A gal who writes travel books (Leelane) for Fodor's, coming on Fodor's (leilani911) to admit she returns travel books after using them "a little"....maybe that's why it got pulled! Too funny!

What a shame it got pulled. That thread had great historic significance! It is the first time, I am 100% certain, in Fodors history, that virtually every person who replied was in agreement with each other and in disagreement with the OP. Historic!! Let's all make note of that and create a Hall of Infamy, where Lealane911's name stands singularly by itself, a party of one. LOL

Can't the original poster request that their thread be deleted by Fodors??? Maybe leelane was tired of us all making fun of her! I posted 101 just after gyppielou, saying "hurray we broke 100" or somthing like that.
Or as mentioned already, maybe Fodors didn't want to encourage returning used guidebooks and expecting a refund.

I say brand her forehead with a big I. I for Infamous, Ignominy, Ingrate, Irresponsible, Icarus, and I'm leaving out the more obvious I's lest this too be pulled.
I would think that thread would discourage potential book returners, rather than encourage them.

Cassandra, leelanie accused us of ganging up on her.
Surprisingly, we all agreed that it wasn't her we were ganging up on but her inability to see that what she was doing maybe wasn't the best route to take. She then got angry with us and withdrew from the post.

I'd really be curious as to B&N's spin on that thread Scarlett. Let us know!
While you're there would you ask them if they'd take back my Fodors 5th edition Rome and Streetwise Venice? We decided to go back to Paris last year so they are unused! LOL

Darn, I never got a chance to participate in that one! My son worked at Waldenbooks summers and holidays all through college. I remember him saying that they didn't care what you brought back as long as it hadn't been dropped in the toilet or something! The employees were allowed to use the store as a library, which he wasn't sure he approved of. Sounds to me like we're not really talking about store policy here (the pulled thread), but what people feel *right* about.
