Hilton Sandestin Hotel or Springhill Suites on Pensacola Beach

I am down to crunch time and need to make a decision about which hotel ressie to keep for our trip March 15-21st. I requested brochures from both hotels, but the Hilton was the only hotel to do so. I called Springhill Suites yesterday and requested one for the second time. Needless to say, I am leaning toward the Hilton Sandestin. Any thoughts or comments about the two hotels? Thanks

Hi. We're going to the Hilton Sandestin Apr 7-12. I did not find this site to be all that helpful for recent comments. I did a search on Trip Advisor. Some very good, and not so good comments. One post really knocked the condition of the rooms, so I emailed Hilton Sandestin. They claim they will be finished with room renovations by March. That made me feel better. The place looks lovely, and the Intrawest Sandestin resort looks great for dining choices. Anyway, if you do go to the Hilton, check back and let me know what you thought of it. Hope you have a great time.

Thanks for the info. I have seen the reviews on TripAdvisor, and I also called the hotel. I got the same message that things are all finished, etc.. I actually read the reservationist the comments and she seemed sincerely shocked. She thinks that the hotel is beautiful and can't believe it had some negative comments. She said that she was going to have the hotel manager look at the web site to read the comments. I hope it is a nice as she says it is! Anyway, if we stay here-which chances are pretty good, I will write back and let you know our opionions. Thanks

Please give a trip report when you return. I'm curious about the Hilton Sandestin.

Thanks!

I think Destin is your best bet even if the Hilton has gotten some bad reviews. The hurricane damage on Pensacola beach was severe and I am sure it will be quite a while before the area makes a full comeback. Destin didn't suffer nearly as much damage and appears to be pretty much fully recovered.

I second going to Hilton. It's been awhile since I stayed there so I can't comment on conditions. I was in Pensacola (not beach)this weekend and things are coming back but your selection of restaurants etc are always greater in the Sandestin area. Be sure to see the Wharf Village (?)for shops and restaurants.
