Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort

I would like to know if you have any suggestions on places to visit
that are nearby the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort? Any idea's would
be very helpful. Is the Moana Mall withing walking distance from
the Hilton Hawaiian Village? We will only be in Hawaii for a short time.
I would like to be able to visit all the interesting places. Thank you in
advance for your help.

If you are asking about the Ala Moana Shopping Center - it's about 3/4's of a mile (10 to 12 minute walk) from the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort.

As for visiting other points of interest, how much time do you actually have? What type of transportation, if any, will you have or be willing to take?

There's hundreds of things to see/do in and around Honolulu. Give us an idea of what type of things interest you (besides shopping).

Thank You so much for your reply. We will not have a car. We could take a taxi if we need to. My daughter likes to hike and we both love the beaches. Love the outdoors. I have heard the Kailua beach area is beautiful. I am not sure if this is quite a distance from Hilton Hawaiian Village.
Thank You for your help. We will be in Hawaii for a week.

If you can get transportation go to hanauma bay for snorkeling. Its not far and the resort may offer transportation. It's breath taking! You will have lots to do close to the resort. You can rent beach equipment right out front. There is also many shopping option and wonderful beaches all within walking distance.

The bus system is very good on Oahu. In downtown Honolulu, you can see the Iolani Palace, Chinatown, and the Aloha Tower area. You will be at the beach at HHV, and Waikiki with its restaurants, shopping, and beach fun is walkable.

You can get tours to the Polynesian Village and to luaus. Roberts of Hawaii is one company.

I meant to say, you would need a car for Kailua Beach but it is beautiful and not crowded. Your daughter could walk a long way there. Parking at the hotels is expensive, but you can rent cars by the day.

You can also get to Pearl Harbor by bus if that interests you.

The Bus is an excellent public transportation system to help you get around. Ala Moana mall is close enough you could walk, or really easily take a bus.

Iolani Palace, Foster Botanical Gardens, Chinatown, Bishop Museum are all interesting places that are close by (using The Bus) to visit.

For hiking you could go south down to Diamondhead (again easy on The Bus).

The Saturday morning farmers market at KCC is a great place to visit.

We had a car on Oahu and also stayed at the HHV and found the car more of a parking hinderance, and expensive. One place we did not make it to was Hanuamauna bay which I wish we had since we had the car, but the bus can take you there!

Look and see what is happening, events around town while you are there. We ran a five mile race, my daughter came in 4th overall and 3rd for women, so she received a plaque! We also did the floating of the lanterns for memorial day and it was such a wonderful experience.
There are bound to be some events happening to make your stay more interesting! Have fun! The HHV is a nice large complex to stay in and you can walk all along Waikiki beach. Enjoy!

One more thing, if you are coming from the eastern coast of the states, you will be up very early on day one. So, it is a great day to hike Diamond Head or get to Hanumauna bay early. My husband drove over to Kailua beach and said it was nice, but he said he would have been fine just hanging out on Waikiki.
