I live near the approach path of an eastcoast city airport. Seeing them up there..wondering hows the trip down with such winds? Anyone fly today?

One of my co-workers was supposed to fly back to LGA today from Dallas and his flight was cancelled. They said there are no flights coming into the NYC area right now. Right now they have him booked on a flight coming in around 4pm because they predict that's when the winds will die down.

All I know is it's been windy for 2 days now and I wish it would end!!

Just an update....his 2nd flight was cancelled as well.

There are currently NO flights coming into the NYC area, at least not via Delta anyway, and most of the closeby cities flights are also affected with cancellations and delays.

Oh, eek, I wish I'd not peeked at this thread - I'm headed from Hartford to BWI this evening and so far the flight is on time. You know, it's so annoying - I used to be this gutsy little flier when I was a kid and as I get older it seems I get more chicken every year. Hope all the flights are OK, and everyone gets to where they need to be (eventually). Sigh.

I hear that the President has an interesting story.
AirForce one had a little trouble, they landed safely but they had a hard time..yikes! If you have turbulence on AirForce One, then I give up!
