Help with trip HH?

We are 4 retired adults attending conference in Charlotte NC in mid- March. Will can fly home from Sav/GA airport and would like some advise on where to spend the last 4 days of our trip. I have read some of the threads and some suggest HH. Any advise on places near the beach? We wish to relax walk the beach and see the sights. Thank you again. I use this site for every trip we take. You guys are great!

We love going to Hilton Head and have stayed in the Shipyard Plantation. There are many bike paths on Hilton Head and you can walk or ride bikes to the beach from the Shipyard Plantation. There are several hotels that are on the beach. Hilton Head has many nice restaurants-we like Catch 22,
the Sea Shack and Old Oyster Factory.

Thank you nlg-
We want a condo close to water & there are so many on VRBO I do not know where to begin. Is it worth the extra cost to be overlooking the water? What do you think of Edisto Beach? Thanks again. Sheila

There are several condo (they call them "villas")complexes in Palmetto Dunes and Shipyard. Both plantations have nice beach frontage.

Mariott Barony Beach Club is a time share resort right on the beach, next to the Westin Hotel. It's a great center-island location near Port Royal Plantation and their golf courses. The resort offers two bedroom villas. Marriott has several other resorts on Hilton Head as well. Try www.Mariott.com.

Sheila, HHI is one of my most favorite destinations in the US. Our fav. place to stay is in (any) villa located at Palmetto Dunes, which is private and beautiful.

Since your trip is in March and the weather may be cool, I would recommend a view of the ocean to make sure you have the opportunity to "enjoy" it.

I like the Old Oyster Factory, as well. Take a day or 1/2 day trip to Savannah for a walk around and a meal, it will be memorable.

Thanks for the information, I will check the above areas. Any information or opinions on Edisto Beach Vs HH? Would you all suggest going with a realty on HH or VRBO? Also we might plan a day trip to Asheville before the conference to see Biltmore Est. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks again for your help. Sheila

Edisto is nice, but there is a lot more to do on Hilton Head, and it is more conveniently located for a day trips to Savannah or Beaufort. Edisto, on the other hand, is closer to Charleston.

The Biltmore Estate is well worth a visit. It's about 140 miles from Charlotte.

For a villa rental try Goode Vacation Rentals. Gigi has been in the business a long time and has several listings in Palmetto Dunes. They have a good website.

In a prior post I mentioned Mariott Barony Beach Club. Mariott also has a new resort, Mariott Surf-Watch, which has two bedroom villas. It is located just north of Palmetto Dunes at Burke's Beach.

Check with Sea Pines Resort and ask about condos near South Beach that are all right on the water.

Marriott's Monarch and Grand Ocean are ocean front.

All Sea Pines and Monarch are inside Sea Pines gate so you can bike or walk to Harbortown and other restaurant and shopping centers.
