Help with my Bronx, NY and Mystic, CT trip

Jump to last reply

Heading to Mystic for a few nights just before Labor Day. Read about the Monet exhibit at the NYBG and now I want to check that out too. We'll be with our 2 and 3 year old boys.

Don't want to stay in NYC and pay $50+ to park in addition to $300/night rooms.

Tentative Plan:

Leave NH. Drive to Palmer Mass to see the trains and have lunch/ice cream. Continue to White Plains. Stay at Hyatt House...so much cheaper than staying in the city. Is there anyplace to check out in the White Plains area with kids?

Day 2: Go to the NYBG, then maybe hang out in Central Park or at the zoo depending on temps. Go back to Hyatt House.

Day 3: Drive to Mystic. Spend day hanging out around town and checking out the aquarium.

Day 4: Day trip to Block Island.

Day 5: Essex steam train and head home....maybe a side trip to Battleship Cove in Fall River since we are relatively close.
