I am attending a wedding at a church in Rockville Centre this Saturday. There are 3 hours in the afternoon between the wedding ceremony and reception, which is in Woodbury. Can anyone suggest something to do in between that's closer to the reception venue? A mall, movie theater, restaurant? I am open to all suggestions, and I appreciate them.

Roosevelt Field is the second largest mall in the country (after Mall of America) - if you feel like shopping. There is also Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City - well worth your time if that is of interst.

I assume you have a car - since without one you aren't going anywhere on Long Island.

And you need to allow yourself at lest 35 minutes or so from RC to Woodbury.

Thank you, nytraveler! I think I will check out the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City for a little while, and then head on out to Woodbury.

I was looking through the site for something else, saw a plea for help on LI, and figured I'd register.

Cradle of Aviation Museum is very nice, but are you sure the reception is in Woodbury? You're looking at a 2 hour drive from Rockville Centre to Woodbury.

I think you mean Westbury. Then yes, the museum is a good call. And Roosevelt Field is barely top 10 by square feet, forget about by store count.

There is a Woodbury, Long Island, NY that is 20 miles from Rockville Centre. It takes about 30 minutes to get there from Rockville Centre.
