Help with accommodations in Bayfield WI

Have checked Trip Advisor for places to stay mid-September. Would appreciate your opinion if you have stayed in the area. Thanks.

A few years ago we splurged for our anniversary and stayed at the Le Chateau property of the Old Rittenhouse Inn. Initially I was disappointed that we couldn't get reservations at the main house but Le Chateau was amazing. It was much more private and the views of the lake were spectacular. One of the days was rainy and I remember curling up with a good book in all sorts of nooks and crannies of the beautiful home. It is one of the more memorable places we've stayed around the country.

Meals were served at the Old Rittenhouse main home and the food was memorable as well. If it fits in your budget I'd highly recommend the Le Chateau at the Old Rittenhouse.

Linda,
Last year we stayed at the Cooper Hill B&B that is run by the mayor and his wife.

While certainly not as fancy as the Old Rittenhouse it was a whole lot cheaper and they had a continental breakfast in the morning. The room was rather small but it fit our needs. The owners are very pleasant and naturally they were extremely knowledgeable about the area.

We have stayed at the Old Rittenhouse Inn and really enjoyed our stay there. We loved eating in the Dining Room there also - it was very special. Our only problem with Bayfield was the fact we got bored after two days there. We just didn't find enough to do. Very pretty area tho.

hope this helps - I think their is a lot to do in the Bayfield and apostle island area - shops - museums - boat trips - hiking.

One thing to remember this area was first explored by the early explorers back in the 1600's -- so their is lots of history, etc.
you need to do some homework and it will make your trip most enjoyable. Good Luck

Don't know how else to answer your question -- The Rittenhouse is great - the rooms and food is fantastic - just trying to give you several different options - not sure whether you wanted a B& B or ??? Have a great stay.
