Help! Quick! Campgrounds in South Dakota

Leaving Saturday morning with three grandkids to the Black Hills. Any campgrounds with a view of Mt. Rushmore? Would be so great to sit in campground and see the lights at night instead of driving up there.

Thanks in advance.

There are many campgrounds in the BH, our favorites are the ones in Custer State Park. Of those Center Lake CG near the Playhouse is the #1 choice, off the beaten path and the Lake is the swimming hole.. Our grandson loved the place. Pass thru that area a few weeks ago and camped there... Don't know of any CG where you can see Rushmore, you may find a commercial one close by.

Horse Thief Lake campground is very close to Mt. Rushmore. I would say it is within a 10-15 minute walk at the furthest. The next closest would probably be the KOA Rushmore which is a very large campground with a ton of things to do... Horseback, outdoor theater, swimming, hiking, bike and trike rentals, little waterslide, volleyball, basketball and all within a 5 minute car ride to Rushmore. The lighting ceremony is very nice and to actually go into the park for that is worth it in my opinion.
