Money is no object? Why don't you put the two of you on a jet and fly out to the Napa Valley and eat at The French Laundry or the lovely restaurant at Domaine Chandon. If that's not possible then I would recommend an evening at Phillip's which has very nice atmosphere and excellent food . Of course, don't let the fact that the arrogant, pompous French Chef ( I know this sounds redundant ) Phillip, himself, is no longer working there stop you. The assistants do all the cooking anyway. The ambience is nice and romantic, the wine list excellent and the service very nice. For Baton Rouge it is not bad! My second choice would be Pave on Jefferson Highway.

For steaks like Ruth's Chris, but better atmosphere and better all-around, go to Mr. Lester's steakhouse in the Cypress Bayou casino. I don't gamble, but out of all the restaurants I've eaten in, in the U.S., this is the best. It's well worth the drive if you're anywhere in South Louisiana. The service is impeccable, the food is to die for, and don't forget to have coffee afterwards. Trust me!
