Help needed so we can keep it together in Disney World at Christmas
Our family will be in Disney World Christmas week. I know it'll be a mob scene so
can anyone give me some tips to stay sane???

Go to park early, at rope drop. You'll have two good hours of touring with minimal lines.
Are you staying on site? Will you have magic bands? You can book your fast passes 60 days out if you are eligible. And since it's in testing mode you still get KTTW cards and can pull old school fast passes at the same time.
Realize you can't do it all and be content with that.

Never went to Disneyworld so don't know the park layout. But at Disneyland, get there very early and head all the way to the back, then ride your way to the front. Worked great the two times we were there.

I agree you should go to Disboards. The people there bring Disney Passion to a scary level but they will be able to answer any question you might have no matter how trivial. You need a touring plan for Disney at Christmas. Recognize that there will be days that they close the park as it will reach capacity. This will impact the Magic Kingdom the most. You will have to get there early in order to get in.
How old are your kids? The best advice we ever got was to go at Rope Drop, spend the morning, then leave and go back to the hotel for a swim and a nap during the really insane afernoon hours. We would go back for dinner and then stay until close. Good luck!

Magic Bands are the new RFID entry wrist bands. They are used for resort entry, park entry, dining plan, fast passes, etc. If you are not staying on Disney property, you will not get one. You will need to rely on traditional fast passes.

I agree about visiting the Disboards.
Make good use of the Fast Pass. Decide what rides and attractions you want to do before you get to the park and get a Fast Pass for anything that already has a long wait time.

Rita, Go to Epcot with your husband at least one day ALONE and drink and eat around the world. You start at France with pastry and coffee but then you move on to Canada, Germany, Italy, UK, etc. Let the kids go to Magic Kingdom. Epcot has a great firework/laser show at night.

We loved when we visited the parks during Christmas week. The decorations and extra activities going on were great. Check out the packages, you can save a ton. It also allows you early entrance and late stay at the parks on certain days.
Stay on the property: you can ride the shuttles to and from the hotel and from park to park. Buy the meal plan. We saved a fortune. For a set price you can eat virtually anything on the menus. Make your reservations now to get the time slots you want.
Check out the special shows and after hours activities and reserve them now. Don't forget to visit some of the Disney hotels during the week. They are decorated to the hilt. We loved the life sized gingerbread house at the Floridian. Lots of fun stuff to do that week, and IMO, not any busier than any other time of year. Disney is always busy.
